Hole # 18

Number 18 and Number 17 are the only holes that have existed in the same state through several golf course expansions.For six decades, the bay that must be contended with from the men's tee on Number 18 has been referred to as the Lagoon. The illusion of tranquility of this scenic body of water, bordered on the north by the "Devil's Washboard" rapids and bordered on the south by the "MadRiver, has been the depository of thousands of golf balls.The bridge, in view to the north that spans the Devil's Washboard, was installed in 1985 and is an original deck section from San Francisco, California's famed Golden Gate Bridge.
